Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The 2008 Infiniti FX has original styling, which resembles that of no other SUV on the market. That originality helps its exterior rank among the best in the class.
"Infiniti's FX35 and FX45 crossover SUVs actually look more like sports cars than light-duty trucks," says Kelley Blue Book. The Chicago Sun-Times argues "One reason for Nissan's dramatic turnaround in the past few years has been its willingness to take chances in designing vehicles. Most Nissans look sleeker than those from the automaker's main Japanese rivals -- Toyota and Honda." In fact, the FX is so sleek-looking that the About.com reviewer writes that it looks like something from another planet: "By the time I returned the Infiniti FX45 after a week of testing around Toronto, I was referring to it as 'the Monster from Mars.'"
The FX's 20-inch wheels receive particular notice from reviewers. "The BMW X5 comes with 20-inch wheels, but on the curvy FX they look disproportionately larger," says Auto Mall USA. And Car and Driver feels that "the humongous wheels should captivate the many who put ‘intimidation' high on their needs' list."
