Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
Critics appear unmoved by the Rondo's easily overlooked exterior design. Edmunds even finds the styling a bit confusing: "There's nothing goofy or awkward in the Rondo's overall look, but there's also little to captivate the mind's eye. It might just be the perfect getaway car for a seven-member gang. Eyewitnesses would have a hard time describing it to the cops." Cars.com compares the exterior to the Rondo's closest competitor, the Mazda5, and concludes that unlike the Mazda, "Rondo's friendly face has few edges. From bumper to bumper, it's a portly little car -- the automotive equivalent of a Teletubby. A two-tier grille sits between large headlights, and openings at each side of the bumper can house optional fog lights."
A few reviewers are more critical of the styling, with Cars.com noting the hodgepodge design "might alienate most shoppers." Among the features its reviewer dislikes is the "way too tall" greenhouse, "too stubby" profile and huge windows that create a "frumpy exterior look." The reviewer concludes, "Trying to sell anyone on the Rondo's ugly beauty might be tough indeed," and later adds, "There's just no way to feel cool in the Rondo, and if everyone sees me driving what they think is a minivan, I might as well buy a real minivan."

EX
The EX adds larger 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior door handles, chrome side moldings, a chrome front grille, front fog lights, and windshield de-icer, among other features.
