Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Reviewers find the 2008 Land Rover LR2's looks appealing. "Perhaps where the LR2 shines most brightly is in its exterior styling," says Road and Track.

The LR2's look, according to several automotive writers, is similar to the boxy appearance of the company's more expensive models, but with softer, more rounded edges. "Anyone used to the boxy, utilitarian aesthetic of the LR3 will find the LR2's softer curves something of a culture shock," writes the reviewer for Edmunds. Nonetheless, the LR2's appearance is widely praised. "The exterior is clean and simple and definitely a Land Rover," according to the Detroit News. "That the new LR2 looks like a Land Rover is important to customers," says Forbes. "And like its stablemates, the LR2 is angular without being boxy; it's solid and stalwart as opposed to slinky, like the Acura RDX." Car and Driver says that "[t]he LR2 certainly looks upscale, mainly because it has plenty of styling elements from other Land Rover products, such as the LR3-style rear pillar and the Range Rover Sport-like front-fender treatment." And the Boston Globe feels that "[s]itting in a parking lot, with its fish-gill side vents, kaleidoscopic headlight glass, and decidedly square and upright stance, the LR2 could pass as one of its far more expensive siblings."
