The 2008 Land Rover Ranger Rover is equipped with a long list of expected safety features, including dual-stage frontal and side impact air bags, side curtain air bags for all rows of seats, and even an air bag to protect the driver's knees. However, the Land Rover Range Rover has yet to be subject to government or insurance industry crash tests.
Accident Avoidance
The 2008 Land Rover Range Rover comes with several advanced systems to help drivers keep control over the SUV. Standard four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, backed by Emergency Brake Assist and Electronic Brake Force Distribution are standard as is Dynamic Stability Control to help drivers avoid skids. The Range Rover can even help drivers avoid small accidents, thanks to standard park distance control, which CNET called "one of our favorite active safety features." The system emits beeps as the Range Rover moves closer to objects, helping drivers avoid bumping into things and, more importantly, avoid hitting children behind the large vehicle.
Crash Protection
For 2008, Land Rover has standard dual-stage frontal and side impact air bags as well as side curtain air bags for all rows of seats and an added an air bag to protect the driver's knees. This added air bag helps keep the driver from slipping below the steering wheel in a crash, which can lead to injury from not being in the optimal position for frontal air bag deployment.
