The 2008 Lexus LS 600h L is the first luxury hybrid of its kind. It's praised for its comfort and cutting-edge technology and also offers ample space and seamless power, but is a high-end cruiser with a hefty price tag. Automobile Magazine says the Lexus is a "luxury car first and a hybrid second, the LS600hL is a tech-laden, top-of-the-line dream machine with the performance and features to match anything in its rarefied class. The hybrid system doesn't make it an eco-mobile, but it does give it a notably more benign ecological impact than its competitors." Popular Mechanics says the Lexus 600h L can't be compared to other hybrids, but is comparable to "other high-horsepower luxury sedans. Its closest competition comes from the 12-cylinder Mercedes-Benz S600 and BMW 760Li." The Los Angeles Times say the Lexus hybrid is "the most complicated, most elaborate machine ever to take to four wheels." Forbes says the hybrid is for you if you "want to show the world you're environmentally conscious without sacrificing the pleasure of high performance and luxury."
New Car Test Drive says: "The Lexus LS 600h is more than just a stretched LS460. It's an advanced, intelligent, premium vehicle with numerous environmental benefits. It's fun to drive, but back seat passengers get the royal treatment." The Car Connection says the 600h is "the most expensive Lexus ever ... For your money, you get an incredibly rich and roomy package, loaded with leather and wood, high-line infotainment technology, cutting-edge safety systems, and a numbingly long list of creature comforts." Still, the LS 600h costs less than some European competitors.
