Reliability
The 2008 Mazda CX-7 reliability score of 8.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
The CX-7 comes with Mazda's three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty. In addition to the basic warranty, CX-7 owners get a five-year/60,000-mile drivetrain warranty.
Newsday notes that "Consumer Reports generally finds Mazda's vehicles average to much better than average," which it finds "encouraging." However, what's not encouraging is the reviewer's note about Mazda dealerships, which already number low compared to other vehicle manufacturers. Newsday says that "what they lack in numbers, Mazda dealers don't seem as a group to make up for with superior customer service; J.D. Power and Associates, the market researchers, rank Mazda dealers way below the industry average."
