Reliability
The 2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliability score of 9.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
Mercedes protects E class owners with a New Vehicle Limited Warranty that covers 48 months or 50,000 miles.
The E Class can also come with an Extended Limited Warranty that will cover an additional 12, 24 or 36 months and up to 100,000 miles.
Reviewers urge consumers to take note that the cost of owning and maintaining a Mercedes Benz E Class is expensive. Edmunds claims that while Mercedes Benz is "still desirable and known for a long service life, a well-kept E-Class from this generation will nonetheless be a costly vehicle to own when repairs are required."
