The Lancer's striking profile tops the affordable small car rankings. Motor Trend describes the look as interesting, "with an aggressive face and a Volvo-ish profile." The Kansas City Star writes, "One look tells you that Mitsubishi's 2008 Lancer, with its shark-nosed front end inspired by jet fighter air intakes, is targeted at a young audience."
Edmunds says the 2008 Lancer has international flavor, with "hints of Acura, Audi, Volvo and even a little Alfa Romeo in the rear view. It has a look that sets it apart from the omnipresent Honda Civic, stodgy new Nissan Sentra and uninspired Toyota Corolla."
