Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The Lancer's striking profile tops the affordable small car rankings. Motor Trend describes the look as interesting, "with an aggressive face and a Volvo-ish profile." The Kansas City Star writes, "One look tells you that Mitsubishi's 2008 Lancer, with its shark-nosed front end inspired by jet fighter air intakes, is targeted at a young audience."
Edmunds says the 2008 Lancer has international flavor, with "hints of Acura, Audi, Volvo and even a little Alfa Romeo in the rear view. It has a look that sets it apart from the omnipresent Honda Civic, stodgy new Nissan Sentra and uninspired Toyota Corolla." The Detroit News reports "Its wedge-shaped body and its raised beltline add to its speedy character. The sharp cut line across its profile under the door handles gives it a more sophisticated look." Lastly, Cars.com finds "There are so many stylish lines on the new Lancer I was surprised by something new each time I showed it to someone."
