Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander's exterior generally gets good reviews. Motor Week says, "The body is sharp and sleek, yet still boxy enough to be useful." Motor Trend agrees, stating, "The new Japan-built Outlander is handsome, decidedly dashing next to its predecessor." The Chicago Sun-Times describes styling as "quite modern" and says it "evokes the athleticism of a sport sedan and the sophistication of a premium SUV." Cars.com has one of the few dissenting opinions, saying, "None of the looks, though, are knock-'em dead."
The 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander has two exterior features that stand out. LED brake lights most commonly found on Lexus vehicles, "give the Outlander a distinctive, high-tech appearance," says the Chicago Sun-Times. The second feature is a sturdy fold-down tailgate that extends to cover the gap between the bumper and cargo area -- thus facilitating loading or barbequing.
