Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Most critics agree that the 350Z Roadster looks good -- but not great. "The Roadster has a visual signature distinct from the coupe's sloping, sleek fastback roof," says USA Today. "The folding top is stubby, making the 350Z Roadster somewhat resemble an Audi TT convertible or an old Porsche 356 convertible. Those are not bad cars to resemble."

Motor Trend believes that the 350Z Roadster "looks pudgy and ungainly" with "an acute case of bubble butt." Cars.com adds that its bulged hood "looks as if the engine jumped off its mounts and bumped into the hood" and "looks out of place." While very few rave about its looks, hardly any go that far in their dissatisfaction for its exterior design. "As with many convertibles, the 350Z Roadster doesn't look its best with the top up," says Kelley Blue Book, "but it's sleekly handsome when the power-operated cloth top is hidden neatly out of view beneath the body-color tonneau cover." In fact, the Sacramento Bee says: "It still looks good. My tester was the Touring edition, and the 350Z is still one of those cars that looks so sleek and sporty that you can't help buy say, 'Wow,' when walking up to it. Stepping in, you just feel, well, cool."

Standard on every 2008 350Z Roadster is a power convertible soft-top with glass window, which Kelley Blue Book says is a "push-button affair that takes about 20 seconds." Moreover, an electronically moving tonneau cover and 18-inch five-spoke cast aluminum-alloy wheels are included.
