Interior - What the Auto Press Says

With the exception of low-quality materials, most reviewers find the 350Z Roadster's fit and finish to be satisfactory. "The cabin is well designed, with large, legible gauges (they tilt along with the steering wheel, so they are always visible) and nicely situated controls," says the New York Times. "But Nissan scrimped on materials to cut costs -- many pieces feel cheap." Cars.com disagrees, saying, "All the tactile areas -- buttons, knobs and switches -- were nicely finished for the price, and I couldn't find much to complain about." Best of all, the interior cabin is well insulated for a convertible. "The power top raises and lowers at the touch of a button, and when the top is up, it's surprisingly quiet inside," says the Orland Sentinel.

Seating

Although the 350Z Roadster is a small two-seater, most reviewers find it roomy and comfortable -- even if hard to enter and exit. "Inside, the 350Z roadster is snug, in a good way. Both front seats are very comfortable and supportive," says the Orlando Sentinel. Still, Consumer Guide notes that "[l]ow-slung styling hampers entry/exit." MSN agrees: "Low seats, high door sills and long, heavy doors make it difficult to get in and out even for the nimble."

Interior Features

Among the many standard interior comfort and convenience features equipped in the 2008 350Z Roadster are power seats; a trip computer; Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob and parking-brake lever. While the Enthusiast trim's seats are upholstered in cloth, the Touring and Grand Touring trims feature leather, heated seats.

An optional DVD navigation system is available for both the Touring and Grand Touring.

Stereo and Entertainment

Standard on the Enthusiast trim is an AM/FM/CD stereo with six speakers and steering wheel-mounted audio controls, which Cars.com says "offered a muddy listening experience. Sound systems are hard to mess up in such small cars, but I found the music and its excessive amounts of treble hard to stomach. Punk rock especially sounded lifeless and tinny."

The Touring and Grand Touring trims, however, feature a Digital Bose stereo with AM/FM/in-dash six-CD changer and seven speakers, including a 10-inch subwoofer. Also included are a Radio Data System (RDS), AudioPilot noise-compensating technology, MP3/WMA CD capability and wheel-mounted audio controls.

Cargo

The 350Z Roadster comes with five cup holders, dash-mounted storage, padded center console storage, a lockable rear luggage box, passenger storage net and a rear parcel box. Such a long list of storage features may be necessary, as its trunk only offers 4.1 cubic feet of storage. Still, Kelley Blue Book notes that "according to a pictogram affixed to the inside of the deck lid, the trunk is big enough for a set of golf clubs."
