Safety - What the Auto Press Says
Standard safety features on the 350Z include anti-lock brakes, dual-stage front air bags with seatbelt and occupant sensors and a tire-pressure monitoring system. In recent government crash tests the 350Z earned a rating of five out of five stars for side impact protection in the front seat.
Accident Avoidance
Traction control is standard on all trim levels but the entry-level 350Z. Vehicle Dynamic Control is standard on the Touring and Grand Touring models, and not available on others. "Obviously, we'd like to see those features added across the lineup," writes Cars.com. "Still, those shopping for a Z might not consider safety a top priority in their decision." AutoWeek says the 350Z is "driveable in the white stuff and the traction control provides extra assurance that you will get to your destination, although you have to be judicious with the throttle off the line."
Crash Protection
Dual-stage front air bags are standard on the 300Z. Optional safety features include seat-mounted side-impact air bags and roof-mounted curtain side-impact air bags (though both are standard on top-line NISMO models). This is "not ideal," argues Cars.com, "because many buyers won't pay the extra money for safety features as options."
