Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
Although Nissan Altima's hybrid model doesn't have the space-age design that's become associated with eco-friendly vehicles, reviewers are attracted to the car's sporty looks. As the Los Angeles Times explains, "The Prius might have a face that only Ed Begley Jr. could love, but the Altima Hybrid … is striking."
Others continue in the same vein. Car and Driver notices, "there's no Prius eco-pilgrim styling to set the Altima hybrid apart from (and morally above) the herd. A little badge on the trunklid, a different wheel design - that's about it." Different reviews take note of the Altima Hybrid's distinctive appearance compared to other family sedans. To Forbes, "The Altima certainly scores in the style department; it's more daring, a bit more sculpted, than the typical family four-door." Even though the sedan shares hybrid components with the Camry Hybrid, The Truth About Cars clarifies, "let's at least agree that the new Altima doesn't look like a Toyota. While all midsize sedans suffer a certain inherent stuffiness, the Altima's shape is more interesting than most, with leaner, crisper lines than the Camry dares wear."
