Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The G6 convertible has not yet been crash tested, but the sedan and coupe perform well in both government<!--[if !supportNestedAnchors]--><!--[endif]--> and insurance industry crash tests.

Other G6 models earned 5 out of 5 and 4 out of 5 stars (driver and passenger side protection, respectively) in government frontal crash tests. They were awarded 5 out of 5 stars on side impact tests for both front and rear seats. In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the G6 sedan receives a score of "Good" -- the best possible -- for frontal offset impacts and a score of "Average" for side impacts.

Accident Avoidance

In addition to standard anti-lock brakes, the G6 convertible has a StabiliTrak Dynamic Control System, designed to measure the vehicle's force and control braking and acceleration if the driver were to lose control.

Crash Protection

Pontiac's G6 convertible has standard dual-stage front and side impact air bags and right- front passenger air bags. GM's OnStar system also provides various services should an accident occur, including step-by-step guidance in the event of an accident and automatic assistance if your air bags deploy.
