Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
In the typically bland class of affordable midsize cars, the Pontiac G6's sporty, stylish look gets good reviews and a good score. U.S. News reviewer Rick Newman writes, "Crisp lines and a taut stance give the G6 some panache in one of the auto industry's most sedate markets."
The G6 debuted for model year 2005 and has not undergone a major exterior overhaul -- but writers are still pleased. The Bergen County (NJ) Record likes "the G6's functional, eye-catching design," while Road and Track contends, "The G6's aerodynamic shape is tight."
"Displaying a wedge-shaped profile, the G6 sedan has wraparound headlights and triangular wraparound taillamps," explains Cars.com. Even detractors have mostly good words. "With its long wheelbase, sleek roofline, bulbous rear end, protruding snout, and oversize headlights," argues Autobytel, "the Pontiac G6 looks out of balance from several angles and rakishly handsome from others." Kelley Blue Book says, "Wheels pushed out to the corners underline a strong stance. Front, side and back, both the G6 Coupe and Sedan look great. The G6 is one of the most attractive cars the Big Three have ever delivered."
