Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The 2008 Saab 9-3's refreshed exterior gets mostly good reviews. With refined body lines, modified head- and taillamps and a new clamshell hood, Car and Driver says "the new face does what every freshening hopes to accomplish -- make the old car look seriously dated."

Many others praise the 9-3's new look, which is described as in keeping with the company's European roots. New Car Test Drive says, "The 2008 Saab 9-3 is the prettiest, sportiest Saab ever built," while Edmunds says it has "distinct Scandinavian charm." To Road and Track, "the latest 9-3's body has a cleaner and more cohesive shape."

A new feature that's most often mentioned is the return of Saab's clamshell hood. Automobile Magazine calls it "a much-loved Saab feature" while Car and Driver adds, "Saab lovers, rejoice! - the return of the clamshell hood."
