Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
Saabs have a look of their own and most agree the 2008 Saab 9-5 SportsCombi still has it -- sort of. "While the Saab wagon has lost a bit of its quirky Swedish appeal over the years," says Forbes, "it remains distinctively styled." U.S. News reviewer Rick Newman reports, "Saab's jutting-jaw front fascia and oddly balanced curves are still distinctive." The Washington Post says the look is "Attractive, stately, rich." But some don't like the trendy direction that the revised Saab styling has taken. "Known for its friendly face, the Saab 9-5 carries an almost sinister gaze," says Edmunds." A larger grille gives the car the prominent nose that's currently in fashion." And Kelley Blue Book says, "Gone, for the most part, is the automaker's familiar three-port grille in favor of a face that's more aggressive, yet less distinctive."
