Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Critics are generally pleased with the Grand Vitara's exterior styling. Car and Driver says its "pugnacious styling looks tough enough to scare off most competitors, although the Dodge Nitro is likely to call its bluff and give it a swirly for trying."

Reviewers note the 2008 Grand Vitara has a more refined look than the previous model. Kelley Blue Book says its "smart enough for a night on the town without belying [its] rugged side." The Car Connection writes, "the Grand Vitara's look is sleeker and more rounded, and a little more elegant, though it keeps the big spare tire hanging on the back and the sideways-hinged tailgate." Finally, About.com says, "Short overhangs front and rear contribute to the Grand Vitara's muscular, ready-to-off-road look, though a close look reveals modest 7.9" ground clearance."
