Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The 2008 Suzuki SX4 wagon's pleasing exterior doesn't fare well in a class with the sleek lines of the Volvo C30 or the boxy appeal of the Scion xB. But still, the New York Times says the SX4's "squat dimensions, tall windows and large side mirrors, which bear some resemblance to Mickey Mouse's ears, deliver a welcome dose of cuteness."

In fact, several refer to the SX4 Crossover as cute. Edmunds reports "more than one person said our Racy Red test car looked like a candy apple on wheels," and the Washington Post call it as "attractive enough to draw affectionate smiles," then later writes, "Someone at Suzuki finally has learned something about styling." But the Orlando Sentinel writes it "looks like a car -- and a rather plain-looking one at that. Not a single driver or pedestrian took a second look at the SX4 during my test drive."

Further, Cars.com says "it's just odd. The front end is almost attractive, but then the windshield rakes back and up -- way up -- to an impossibly high roofline."
