Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not tested the hybrid, but gives the gasoline-powered Highlander a top score of "Good" in frontal offset tests and names it a "Top Safety Pick."

  • "The Hybrid, like all other 2008 Highlanders, comes with dual advanced front airbags, seat-mounted front airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, and a driver's knee airbag." -- The Auto Channel
  • "Safety features on all models include ... active front headrests, tire-pressure monitor, antilock brakes, traction control, antiskid control, and hill-start assist." -- New Car Test Drive
