Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Though the Land Cruiser is redesigned for 2008, most reviews say that its exterior body style remains consistent with past models. "There are no heroic Nissan Murano-like experiments with styling here, just a clean modernization of the concept," says Car and Driver.

"Honestly," comments BusinessWeek, "the new Land Cruiser doesn't look that much different on the outside than the version it replaces. The Land Cruiser sees its proportions and sheetmetal change slightly, but within, the redesign is much more dramatic than its appearance might indicate." Putting its design in perspective, most reviews assert that it best resembles the Toyota Highlander. "One major difference is that the Land Cruiser is a truck-based, body-on-frame model, which puts it in league with the FJ, 4Runner and Sequoia - all of which are several inches taller than the car-based Highlander," says Cars.com.
