Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Critics agree that the Sienna looks good for a minivan, but like most of the vehicles in its class, it's not a head turner. "The hump-backed shape of the previous Sienna is long gone, replaced by a more angular physique that looks fairly athletic for its size," writes U.S. News auto reviewer Rick Newman.

The Auto Channel says that the Sienna has a "long snout, backswept headlight housings, and a smiling countenance," along with a low stance and "nicely sculpted character lines" that "lead to a rear view with a little character," and concludes, "No one could accuse Sienna of being bold, but its styling is not just white-bread either."

The last exhaustive exterior overhaul of the Sienna took place for model year 2004, but for model year 2006 the Sienna's front fascia, side molding, and rear taillights were redesigned. This year's model is largely unchanged. Kelley Blue Book explains, "Last year's overhaul added nearly five inches to the Sienna's wheelbase" -- an increase that provides more interior space without significantly affecting exterior styling.
