Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Reviewers like the way the 2008 Volvo C30 looks, calling it modern, even muscular. Edmunds thinks that the C30 is "a modern, distinctive and undeniably handsome car. This may well be the first Volvo that can justifiably be described as 'cool.'"

Reviews generally praise the C30's appearance and feel that it stands out as a unique design in a field of fairly conventional looking wagons: "In a class dominated by 2-box hatches, the C30's coupe profile is a pleasing departure," says Road and Track. Particular attention is drawn by the C30's back end. "The C30 is most visually interesting from the rear," says Forbes, "with a unique taillight design and rear window hatch." Comparing the rear bumpers to baseball players, the Boston Globe reports that "the fenders are downright pumped. Big and bulging, sort of Jose Canseco-ish." Several reviewers comment on the C30's all-glass tailgate. "The most distinctive-and coolest-part of the C30 is the solid glass rear hatch," says Car and Driver. New Car Test Drive calls the C30 "a stylish hatchback with a large glass backlight."

Exterior Trims

The C30 T5 Version 2.0 adds a body styling kit with spoilers, larger chrome exhaust tips and standard 18-inch Diamond Cut wheels.
