Based on analysis of 36 C30 reviews and test drives.
Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The 2008 Volvo C30 has not yet been rated in federal government crash tests. However, reviewers are impressed with the available safety features. "As you'd expect from Volvo, there's a plethora of safety features," says Edmunds.
Accident Avoidance
Volvo is famous for its safety features and the C30 doesn't disappoint. Accident avoidance features include Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC), which comes standard, plus such optional features as the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and rear-park assist.
Crash Protection
Crash protection features include the Side-Impact Protection System (SIPS), which consists of a strong body structure with a number of interacting features, all of which help to distribute crash forces across a large part of the car's body to minimize the impact of a crash on occupants. Also included are a whiplash protection system, seatbelt pretensioners for all four seats, dual-stage air bags for the driver and front passenger, inflatable side curtains, and side-impact air bags for driver and front passenger.
