Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the 2009 Nissan Murano a top rating of "Good" in frontal offset, side and rear crash tests. The federal government gave the most recently tested 2007 Murano a top score of five stars for passenger and driver safety in frontal crash tests, and five stars for front- and rear-seat safety in side crash tests. Though safety is generally good on the Murano, several reviewers mention its blind spots, which hamper rearward visibility. To remedy the issue, Nissan offers a RearView Monitor that comes standard on the LE and optional on the S and SL.
