Safety - What the Auto Press Says

Crash test results have not been released for the 2009 Scion tC, but the highly similar 2008 model did very well in government crash tests. In addition, all tCs have an extensive list of standard safety equipment.

  • The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the 2008 tC five out of five stars for driver protection in frontal offset crashes, and four out of five stars for the front passenger. The tC also earned five out of five stars for both front and backseat protection in side impact crashes. The car also has a four out of five star rollover rating.
  • "The 2009 Scion tC comes with antilock disc brakes, a first aid kit, a driver knee airbag, front side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags as standard." -- Edmunds
