Used Car: 2010 Acura RDX Review

Review Last Updated: 7/16/12

The 2010 Acura RDX has sporty handling and a fairly roomy interior, but some critics thought its engine could be smoother and its interior nicer.

The 2010 Acura RDX is ranked:

When it was new, reviewers praised the RDX for its good handling and acceleration. They also liked that the RDX has loads of standard features, though some complained that cabin fit and finish seemed a bit subpar. The RDX carries an excellent safety score, as most cars in the class do, while its reliability score is just below the class average.

The RDX has one available engine, a turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 240 horsepower. While most critics found this to be sufficient to move the RDX without trouble, some did notice hints of turbo lag. Front-wheel drive models, which were newly-available for 2010, earn fuel economy estimates of 19/24 mpg city/highway, while those with all-wheel drive achieve 17/22 mpg. These figures are about average for the class. The RDX’s maximum cargo capacity is fairly spacious at 60.6 cubic feet.

Inside, the RDX mostly drew compliments for seat comfort and cabin space. Several critics, though, noted that some interior materials seemed cheap. However, many liked the standard features, which include leather seats, a power sunroof, backup camera, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth and satellite radio. A technology package adds features like an upgraded sound system, navigation and a climate control system that automatically adjusts the cabin temperature depending on the intensity of the sun. The RDX received a facelift for 2010, but otherwise has changed very little since 2007, so you might be able to save some money by shopping for an older model, so long as you know that front-wheel drive is unavailable.

Other Cars to Consider

If you’re looking for a 2010 compact SUV that’s even sportier, check out the 2010 Infiniti EX. The EX is one of the most powerful vehicles in the segment, and critics said it handles much like a sport sedan. However, if you also need your SUV for hauling gear, know that the EX has one of the lowest cargo capacities in the class.

Another 2010 compact SUV you may like is the 2010 Cadillac SRX. The SRX was newly redesigned for 2010, and critics loved its luxurious and upscale cabin. Keep in mind that it doesn’t have the sporty handling of the RDX, so it may not be the best choice for driving enthusiasts.
