2007 Acura RL Review

This review was written when the 2007 Acura RL was new.

The RL delivers one of the best combinations of technology, all-wheel drive and luxury in its class. If you're in the market for a luxury large car, you should also consider the Infiniti M or Mercedes Benz E Class.

Reviewers see the 2007 Acura RL as a solid pick for technology junkies who want a smooth-riding, luxury sedan that packs a lot of punch in the sticker price. Kelley Blue Book praises Acura's flagship luxury sedan, commenting, "the RL showcases the latest automotive high-tech gadgetry in an attractive package that is both user-friendly and semi-intuitive." And CNET also notes, "People who prefer a high-tech premium coupe but need a sedan would find that the RL makes a good compromise."

According to Newsday, "The RL is a big step up from its predecessor and quite a value considering its standard equipment and its excellent ride and handling." Plus, Kelley Blue Book reports that the "RL is expected to have a slightly better-than-average residual value over a five-year period, falling below the Infiniti M35 and Lexus GS 350, but besting the Audi A6 and Cadillac STS." IntelliChoice, however, gives the RL an "average" rating for its predicted five-year total cost of ownership, compared to other vehicles in its class.

The 2007 Acura RL comes in only one trim, but there are two packages available - the Technology Package and the CMBS/PAX Package (which requires that you purchase the Technology Package).
