Used Car: 2010 Acura TSX Review

Review Last Updated: 7/30/12

When it was new, the 2010 Acura TSX impressed reviewers with its high-quality interior and long list of standard features. As a used car, the TSX also excels thanks to best-in-class safety and reliability scores.

The 2010 Acura TSX is ranked:

For 2010, Acura added a 3.5-liter V6 engine to the TSX’s list of available features, and reviewers couldn’t have been more pleased with the update. They said this engine gave the TSX the engaging performance that they expected from the 2009 model. Many still wanted more power from the base TSX’s 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine, though it does earn better fuel economy ratings than the V6. The TSX averages up to 21/30 mpg city/highway, which is class-competitive.

Reviewers praised the TSX’s cabin for being well-made and well-equipped. It has standard leather seats, a seven-speaker stereo, satellite radio, a USB port and Bluetooth. The optional Technology Package added features like an upgraded stereo, navigation and rearview camera. Most test drivers agreed that the front seats are comfortable and that there’s plenty of room in the trunk, but some reviewers thought the rear seats needed more legroom. Still, that complaint isn’t unusual among 2010 upscale small cars.

The TSX has an unbeatable safety score and carries a very good reliability rating for its class. As a result, the 2010 Acura TSX makes a great deal of sense for shoppers seeking a safe, dependable used car.

Other Cars to Consider

Like the TSX, the 2010 Volvo S40 is a well-equipped sedan that also has an above-average reliability rating. It has good cargo space and a similar list of interior tech features. While the S40 has a slightly lower safety score, it trumps the TSX with available all-wheel drive, which should appeal to shoppers who want some extra grip on slippery roadways.

The 2010 Volkswagen GTI hatchback doesn’t have quite as many standard interior features as the TSX, but the GTI offers well-rounded performance that reviewers loved. Its reliability rating is good, but the GTI has great interior space with comfortable rear seats, and it has more cargo space than the TSX.
