Used Car: 2014 Audi A4 Review
Auto writers said the 2014 Audi A4 has agile handling, a smooth ride and an attractive, well-built cabin, but they disliked its complicated infotainment system.
The 2014 A4's standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine has plenty of power for driving in the city or on the highway, reviewers said. According to the EPA, the base A4 gets 24/32 mpg city/highway, which is good for the class. The 2014 A4 comes standard with front-wheel drive and a continuously variable transmission (automatic). An eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual are available on all-wheel drive models. The performance-oriented S4 comes with a supercharged V6. The Audi A4 provides a good balance between ride comfort and agile handling, critics said, and it has sharp steering and strong brakes.
Test drivers reported that the 2014 Audi A4's interior has attractive styling, top-notch materials and superb build quality. Some critics noted that the A4's back seat could use more space, though others were pleased with the space. The A4's trunk space is a bit low for the class. Standard features include leather upholstery, a power sunroof, Bluetooth, an iPod connector, satellite radio and Audi's MMI infotainment system. Available features include navigation, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and a Bang & Olufsen stereo system. MMI can be frustrating to use, reviewers noted, adding the MMI controls in models without navigation are hard to reach.
