Safety - What the Auto Press Says
Neither the federal government nor insurance industry has crash tested the 2010 A5. However, it features loads of assuring safety technology -- including front, side, and side curtain airbags. Adding another level of protection is Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system, which increases traction in the slipperiest of conditions. If, however, an accident occurs, Crash Sensor automatically deploys. This system unlocks all doors, turns on interior lights, switches on the hazards, and shuts off the fuel pump and engine to keep passengers safe until help arrives.
- "Outward visibility is quite good, with relatively narrow pillars and the side post far enough rearward it doesn't interfere with lane-change or close-quarter over the shoulder glances. The rear pillars are generally unnoticed, the rear window usefully large and distortion-free, and the edges of the bodywork not totally lost in the distance." -- New Car Test Drive
