Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
From stem to stern, the 2008 Audi A6 Avant is an attractive wagon. The Los Angeles Times says the A6 has a "sleek skin that looks curried by the wind," and AutoWeek adds that the exterior is both "impeccable and unmistakable."
AutoWeek says that A6 "merges the best parts of the Volvo XC90, Chrysler 300 and Mazda MPV," specifically highlighting the Volvo-like taillights, Mazda's single-frame grille and the wider fenders found on the Chrysler 300C. But others say the A6's grille takes some getting used to. Forbes says, "Press pundits compared it to Macaulay Culkin's trademark expression in the movie Home Alone, or else Munch's painting The Scream." Car and Driver notes the wagon's "bravura good looks" but calls the grille "The Mickey Big Mouth look."
