Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2010 Audi A6 has not been crash tested by the federal government. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the 2009 edition of this car a "Top Safety Pick" in the large car category because that car earned the institute's highest rating, "Good," in both frontal-offset and side-impact tests, and offers standard Electronic Stability Control.

Audi's Electronic Stabilization Program monitors each wheel for slip and can apply brakes on an individual wheel to help prevent or correct a skid. Four-wheel antilock brakes are standard, as is Electronic Brake-Force Distribution and traction control. The A6 includes front, front-side and side head curtain airbags as standard equipment. Active head restraints and seatbelt pretensioners are also included in every A6.
