Reviewers agree that the 2014 AUDI Q5 has an elegant interior that features high quality materials, but what's it like on the road? Hi I'm Jim Sharifi, Senior Editor with U.S. News Best Cars. In this video we'll examine the Q5's performance.
The AUDI Q5 comes with a variety of engines including a standard 220 Horsepower Turbocharged four cylinder. A 272 Horsepower Super Charged V6 and a 240 Horsepower Turbo-Diesel V6.
AUDI SQ5 models offer even more power with a 354 Horsepower Super Charged V6 and the Q5 Hybrid is also available. An eight speed automatic transmission is standard on all models. The base Q5 gets an EPA estimated 20miles/gallon in the city and 28 on the highway, which is good for a luxury compact SUV.
The Turbo-Diesel Q5 TDI gets the best fuel economy estimates in the line up with 24miles/gallon in the city and 31 on the highway. Reviewers note that the Q5's Turbo Charged four cylinder engine is refined and offers plenty of power. They say that eight speed automatic transmission shifts quickly and smoothly and that the optional Super Charged V6 engine offers impressive power. Critics especially like the new Diesel model, which they say offers fantastic acceleration from the start.
All Wheel Drive is standard on the Q5 while the AUDI Drive Select System allows adjustment of steering throttle and transmission settings.
Test drivers agree that the Q5 offers controlled handling and a firm yet comfortable ride, they also note the All Wheel Drive System delivers strong traction and great grip on twisty roads.
