Audi S6 - What the Auto Press Says

The S6 is a smooth, powerful and downright luxurious highway cruiser, but it still can't match the more refined performance of top rivals.

The 2008 Audi S6 is a refined, luxurious sports sedan. "The Audi S6's huge engine, well-appointed interior and understated appearance make for an ideal high-speed cruiser," says Forbes. However, several reviews note that the S6's performance falls short of top competitors such as the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63, both of which offer more powerful engines. The 2008 S6 is a carryover from 2007, though it gets newly standard satellite radio and an optional lane-departure warning system.

The Audi S6 comes equipped with a 5.2-liter V10 engine and six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard.

  • "Audi's 2008 S6 is practical, advanced and luxurious, and shoppers will have a difficult time looking past it at the dealership." -- Automobile Reviewer
  • "The only downside to owning the S6 is the penalty the US government imposes in the form of a $1300 tax, levied against vehicles that guzzle, not sip gasoline." -- Carseek
