Used Car: 2014 Audi TT Review

Review Last Updated: 7/15/15

The 2014 Audi TT is pleasing to drive and has a high-end interior, according to reviewers, but they added that competing luxury sports cars have more-powerful engines, nimbler handling and give the driver more thrills on the road.

The 2014 Audi TT comes standard with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that critics reported delivers adequate power, but they added that several rivals’ engines feel more potent. The TTS trim has the same engine but makes more horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, and test drivers noted it shifts quickly and smoothly. The 2014 TT earns 22/31 mpg city/highway, according to the EPA, which is great for the class, and it comes standard with all-wheel drive. The Audi TT has composed handling and a comfortable ride, but it's not in the same league as several rivals in terms of handling and steering, test drivers said.

According to critics, the 2014 Audi TT has a sporty interior with top-notch materials. They reported the front seats are comfortable, but the rear seats aren't suitable for most occupants. Cargo area in the coupe is good for the class, while the convertible's trunk space is typical for the class. Standard features include automatic climate control, satellite radio, Bluetooth and a 12-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system. Available features include navigation, heated front seats, rear parking sensors and iPod integration. Auto writers commented that the navigation system isn't user-friendly, but that the climate controls are straightforward.

Other Cars to Consider

Test drivers reported that the 2014 Porsche Boxster offers excellent performance, with strong engines and agile handling. They said the Boxster has well-placed controls, and liked that its cabin uses materials that come from the Porsche 911, which was pricier than the Boxster when they were new.

The 2014 Jaguar F-Type has several available supercharged engines that critics said feel incredibly powerful. They added that the F-Type handles with agility and has precise steering, and that the infotainment system is easy to use.
