Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Reviewers have always liked the look of the latest generation of 3-Series car, but in recent years, some complained about the oddly bulbous trunk lid, while others said the nose of the coupe was more attractive than that of the sedan and wagon. BMW has addressed both complaints last year, smoothing out the trunk lid and bringing the aggressive fascia of the coupe to the sedan and wagon models. Those decisions resolved the few complaints we had found about the car. Now, it's pretty much universally lusted after.

  • +"Some of the sedan and wagon's more questionable styling elements have been rectified. These models receive a new front fascia that's reminiscent of the sexier coupe and convertible, and their streamlined cabooses mark a return to the more attractive BMW tradition of L-shaped taillights." -- Edmunds
  • "Crisp, angled style and a feeling of forward motion." -- MSN
  • "The 3-Series makeover shows a redesigned front bumper with reshaped kidney grilles, resculpted hood lines, redesigned front headlamps and taillamps... Overall, subtle changes, yet strong enough to communicate a fresh new look." -- World Car Fans
