Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The sheetmetal of the BMW Hydrogen 7 is no different than that of the conventional BMW 7-Series from 2007 (the gasoline powered 7-Series has since been redesigned). It is distinguished by a paint scheme that highlights its fuel sources with the words "Clean Energy" emblazoned on both sides of the car. The 2007 7-Series the car is based on has a divisive design, which sold very well but was criticized in the automotive press for proportions that struck some reviewers as unbalanced.
- "Apart from a big "H2" in the middle of the dashboard (and a small button on the right of the steering wheel, which you can just about see in this picture) you wouldn't know you were driving anything other than a regular BMW." -- BusinessWeek
- "Aside from billboard-size Clean Energy logos on the sides, little about the car offers clues to the crazy chemistry inside." --New York Times
- Writing of the conventional 7-Series, "It strikes an imposing pose even standing still; the car looks substantial because it is." -- Kelley Blue Book
