Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The X3's four-year-old design hasn't changed much since its introduction -- a sore point for reviewers who think it looks dated. The only real change is that a Panoramic Moonroof, previously standard, is now optional as part of the $3,750 Premium Package.
- "The X3's styling is similar to that of the X5, but on a slightly smaller scale. Design cues include a fresh interpretation of the Hofmeister kink -- a bend behind the rear side windows that distinguishes BMWs -- and a version of the automaker's twin-kidney grille." -- Cars.com
- "Now that all other BMWs -- including the larger, all-new X5 -- have taken on ‘flame surfacing' overtures, the X3's wedgy, angular flanks look even more dated than they did when the X3 was introduced for the 2004 model year." -- Car and Driver
