Auto reviewers like the Enclave stylish and upscale cabin, but how is it out on the road. Hi! I am Jim Sharifi, Senior Editor with U.S. News Best Cars. In this video we will take a closer look at the Enclave's performance.
The Buick Enclave is powered by a 3.6 L V-6 engine that produces 288 hp. Front-wheel-drive and a six speed automatic transmission are standard and all-wheel drive is optional. The front-wheel-drive Enclave gets an EPA estimated 17 miles per gallon in the city and 24 on the highway, while the all-wheel drive model gets 16 and 22. These fuel economy estimates are about average for the class.
Test drivers report that the Enclaves engine has adequate power in all situations and most agree that the transmission shifts smoothly and makes the most of the engine power. Auto writers note that the Enclave feels stable on twisty roads and that its ride is comfortable without being too soft. They also like its accurate steering and strong breaks.
Test drivers indicate that the Enclave doesn't exhibit too much body roll through turns though some comment that it can be tricky to navigate through tight areas due to its large size.
