The Lucerne's interior is extremely spacious, and features a comfortable ergonomic layout. Oddly, it offers an optional sixth-seat, on a bench between the two front seats -- but reviewers say it's not useful. A few hard plastics and out-of-date electronics limit the appeal of the cabin.

The Lucerne seats five, and with an optional front bench seat, can seat six in theory. We should note that the car has not been safety tested in the six-seat layout, and safety experts recommend that children sit only in the back. Seats are comfortable for many, but some reviewers find them too flat, and the flat dashboard can place the steering wheel far away from many drivers.

The Lucerne's trunk offers 17 cubic feet of cargo capacity, but the rear seats do not fold down. An opening accessible through the rear armrest allows for long, narrow objects to pass into the sizable trunk, which can easily accommodate a family's luggage.
