Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The 2010 Cadillac DTS is five inches longer than a Cadillac Escalade, and two inches longer than a long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan. It's also GM's widest car.  It will appeal to those looking for old-school Cadillac style. It's huge, dominated by its Cadillac crest, and evokes the three-box look of old Caddies -- but with a more refined edge influenced by European cars. It's not built to look as modern as sleek offerings from competitors, but rather to serve as an update on the Cadillacs of old. Reviewers say it serves that role well.

  • "With its vertical headlights and tail lights and its egg-crate grille, the DTS has acquired the design heritage of the Cadillac family and adapted it to 21st-century reality. It acknowledges tradition, yet remains fresh and modern." -- New Car Test Drive
  • "A solid evolution of Cadillac's edgy look." -- Motor Trend
  • "The DTS achieves an interesting balance of subtlety and thanks to its sharp-cornered exterior design bad attitude (we mean that in the flattering sense)." -- Forbes
  • "Through dozens of intersections, from Milford to Ann Arbor to Chelsea, we were happy to note that several other drivers deferred to us. We took that as a clear sign of respect for the new DTS." -- Cars.com
