Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
According to most reviewers, the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid has almost identical styling to the conventional Escalade - and that's a good thing. What sets the Escalade Hybrid apart from the conventional model is how GM lets onlookers know it's a hybrid. Nine large decals announce the Escalade Hybrid's gas/electric powertrain, making it clear that the Escalade Hybrid shouldn't be confused with its gas-guzzling sibling.
- "If you go for big, shiny and flashy, then the Escalade is for you. It's huge; it commands the road and demands to be noticed." -- Mother Proof
- "And the Escalade hybrid maintains its over-the-top good looks with the distinctive, powerful grille, the giant wheels and the sharp chiseled lines along the body. Every line is drawn to denote power. The Escalade is one of the few vehicles that can pull off fender vents that don't make me giggle." -- Detroit News
- "Drop 'em off in this Caddy, and, little Timmy might start referring to his little friends as his entourage." -- Wired
- "The Escalade Hybrid rides on 22-inch wheels, which are at least 4 inches bigger and thus many pounds heavier than any sensible engineer would choose if truly concerned with improving fuel economy." -- Wall Street Journal
- "Superficially, one of the only things distinguishing the Escalade Hybrid from the regular Escalade is badging. And speaking of which, the hybrid decals all over the exterior of the vehicle need to go. They're as tacky as leaving the price tag on a birthday gift." -- Autobytel
