2007 Cadillac SRX Review

Review Last Updated: 5/2/08

These scores and this review are from when the car was new.

The SRX delivers family car utility and a luxury interior, but suffers from poor fuel economy and sometimes-sluggish performance. If you're in the market for a luxury midsize SUV, you should also consider the highly rated and comparably priced Acura MDX and Lexus RX 350.

The Cadillac SRX offers good performance for a midsize SUV along with a comfortable interior. The Orlando Sentinel says that the SRX "may be the best Cadillac in decades," and Edmunds notes that "the 2007 Cadillac SRX is a top choice for those wanting a bit of extra on-road excitement from their SUV."

The SRX, which debuted in 2003, also receives top honors from Car and Driver, which recognizes the new model as one of their "5 Best Trucks," and from Consumer Guide, which names it a "Best Buy." Consumer Guide says that "against similarly priced premium midsize SUVs, SRX is among the best in performance, features, and accommodations ... Add AWD security, and it's a Best Buy alternative to a traditional luxury sedan." However, for 2007, IntelliChoice gives the base SRX a value rating of "worse than average" for its predicted five-year total cost of ownership, compared with other vehicles in its class.

The Cadillac SRX is only available in one trim, with a choice of the V6 or V8 model. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard and all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional.
