2007 Cadillac SRX Interior
This interior review was written when the 2007 Cadillac SRX was new.
Glowing reviews all commend Cadillac for giving the interior of the 2007 SRX -- which had been criticized in previous models -- a luxurious makeover. With an optional third row, the standard five-seat SRX can accommodate up to seven, and reviewers applaud the Bose audio system and optional panoramic sunroof and wood-trim package.
The majority of reviewers see the redesigned interior as very plush and comfortable. The optional third-row bench is also a plus, though some don't like the fact that it limits cargo space when in use.
A roomier interior is also apparent, and NewCars.com approves of the head- and legroom, which it calls more spacious than in other luxury SUVs. On that note, Consumer Guide adds its two cents, stating that the SRX has plenty of room up front and "generous legroom" in the rear. CNET also applauds the comfortable front driver and passenger seats, noting that they "provide plenty of seating options and lumbar support thanks to a power lumbar control."
The optional third-row seat is also a welcome addition -- although, as most reviewers have noted, when in use, it inhibits cargo room. With this additional row of seating, the SRX can seat seven.
CarsDirect.com praises the SRX's cabin as "on par with the best in SUVs." In that vein, most reviews rave about the fact that the Cadillac SRX offers a wide array of features and options. MSN states that "the well-equipped SRX has leather upholstery and virtually all the comfort, convenience and safety features found in luxury sedans." Various standard features on the base V6 include AM/FM stereo with CD player and a Bose eight-speaker system, cruise control, and remote keyless entry. The V8 upgrades to an AM/FM stereo with a six-disc in-dash CD changer and a Bose eight-speaker sound system. XM Satellite Radio (with a 3-month trial) is available on both trims.
Stereo and Entertainment
A number of reviewers have praised the standard Bose sound system on the SRX. According to The Auto Channel, "The Bose 5.1 Cabin Surround Sound system, with eight speakers, enhances the driving experience tremendously." And MarketWatch also raves about it, claiming, "The Bose 5.1 cabin-surround system was easy to operate, even with the navigation, and offers concert-hall quality."
According to Cadillac, the SRX offers a maximum cargo capacity of 69.5 cubic feet, which entails 32.4 cubic feet behind the second row and 8.4 cubic feet behind the third row. NewCars.com explains, "The SRX will quite certainly prove handier than the typical luxury SUV for those of you with frequent child-cargo." And CarsDirect.com reports that "its flat, carpeted cargo area works great for hauling cargo."
