Cadillac STS Exterior Review

Exterior - 8.5 (Very Good)

For 2008, the STS gets a new face with a modified grille and chrome touches. Reviewers note the improvements, finding the overall appearance sportier, better proportioned and more authoritative. Car and Driver calls the exterior body of the STS "all jeweled up."

Overall, Edmunds auto writers like the changes to the 2008 STS, calling the styling "edgier" and describing it as "sporty all-American looks." The STS, along with chrome trim pieces, has an "in-your-face chrome grille taken from the Cadillac Sixteen concept that gives the STS its own identity, for now, in the Caddy lineup," says AutoWeek, all contributing to a "more assertive presence." Auto writers from Car and Driver add that the larger, multitextured Cadillac family grille adds "some much-needed presence to its previously vacant expression." Cars.com notes that the "bumper is more prominent and the grille is dominant," and "elements are in proportion." Automobile Magazine concludes that "the STS attempts to dazzle its opponents with the chrome wattage of its bigger, fancier grille, chrome door handles, and -- today's must-have style accessory -- chrome front fender vents."
