Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The '10 Camaro performs well in federal government crash tests - earning four of five stars in frontal impacts and a perfect score of five stars in driver side crashes. The Camaro is also rated five stars in rollover tests.

All trims of the Camaro come equipped with dual-stage front and side-impact airbags for front seat occupants and head-curtain side-impact airbags for all passengers. Also standard are four-wheel antilock brakes and Stabilitrak electronic stability control with traction control. Still, reviewers complain of visibility issues from the driver's seat -- a common complaint of muscle cars.

  • "Yes, there's a huge blind spot in the C-pillar. And, yes, the view out the front is like looking through a mail slot. But fixing either problem would require making the Camaro look . . . well, less like it does now. And the Camaro looks good now, so we don't really care." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "Every element seems to create another blind spot: the chopped roof and gun-turret windows; the chin-high windowsills, hood and dashboard; roof pillars the size of bridge supports. The effect is like sitting in a pickle barrel and peering through the slats." -- New York Times
