Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Reviewers believe that the Corvette's exterior body design is iconic -- perhaps that's why not many take time to describe or comment on its unique styling. The Corvette is offered in two body styles, coupe and convertible. A removable hard top is also available for coupe models.

  • "The 2008 Chevrolet Corvette is still easily identifiable as a Corvette, although the changes to the exterior make the sixth-generation car a different animal than its predecessors. Overhangs both front and rear are noticeably shorter and the overall look is less boy-racer and more sophisticated sports car." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "It's shorter and more European-looking than the previous version and has exposed Xenon headlights rather than the open-and-close ones Corvettes had become known for." -- BusinessWeek
  • "The current model is the most aerodynamically efficient Corvette ever, generating more aerodynamic downforce than before to enhance high-speed stability." -- Forbes
  • A critic for the Orlando Sentinel didn't like the removable-top coupe, "which even in December let in more Florida heat than I liked." -- Orlando Sentinel
  • "Many familiar styling cues highlight the latest Corvette, but the current generation is the first one since 1962 with fixed headlights. Xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights are standard. Round taillights and integrated exhaust tips appear at the rear. A tapered rear deck is claimed to improve high-speed performance." -- Cars.com
  • "[I]t's bolted into such a well-mannered and well-built chassis (no creaks and rattles here), with such a beautiful body, that there really is no competition at this price. -- AutoWeek
