Safety - What the Auto Press Says

Because safety is not a primary concern of Corvette drivers, little is said of its active and passive safety systems. In fact, neither the federal government nor the insurance industry has crash tested it. Chevrolet equips the Corvette with driver and passenger dual-stage front airbags, as well as a passenger sensing system. Side impact air bags, however, are only available as an option.

Run-flat tires allow a driver with a flat to keep going at a reduced speed to find a safe place to pull off the road, or if they're lucky, to reach a facility where the tire and/or wheel can be fixed, or more likely, replaced." -- Forbes
