Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
Most reviewers like the 2010 Chevy Silverado's rugged and handsome styling. The Silverado is available in several different exterior configurations. There are three cab sizes: a two-door regular cab; an extended cab, which adds a small rear-seat area accessed by two rear-hinged doors, and a four-door crew cab. The truck bed is also available in standard, long and short lengths. Standard bed length is 78.7 inches, while the long length is 97.6 inches. The short bed length is 69.3 inches. All beds are 61.9 inches wide (50.6 inches at the wheel wells).
While several competitors have started adding covered and lockable in-bed storage compartments, tail gate and side steps, the Silverado offers few exterior gadgets.
- "The new look is crisp, clean, broad-shouldered and powerful." --AutoMedia.com
- "Other disappointments: No factory bedliner." -- Car and Driver
- "The one area in which the Silverado is showing its age is in the race for crazy storage options. It's got a nice roomy bed with a standard bed mat, but the rail clamps don't move around without tools unless you spec up to the optional cargo management system." -- Jalopnik
- "While GM is trying to differentiate the Silverado and Sierra, their common silhouette is hard to overcome, even with unique front fenders, grille, bumpers, headlamps, cargo box and taillamps. There's also still a strong family resemblance with the Chevy Tahoe/Suburban." -- Cars.com
